What originally brought you to The Mane Suite?

I was wanting to grow out my hair from having it mostly shaved, and I wanted extensions to help me feel and look more in line with how I felt as my hair was going through the awkward growing out phase. I wanted extensions that would be high quality, as natural as possible, and done well such that it didn't damage my hair or scalp.
Is there anything you feel makes this experience different from other salons or stylists you’ve seen in the past?

Like it's one good picture and I want to see before and after, and progress too. You were more up front with cost too, compared to other places, where they really try to hide it, and wait until you come in to give you the full thing. "I feel like my thickness is similar and it's growing a lot, health wise my ends are a lot better than it was in the beginning. It looked.. it wasn't fried but it looked like it because of my curl pattern, so I would brush it and it would look really bad as where now it's a lot more hydrated."

"Well my hair just always looks good, even when it's four days, no washing, no curling. I feel so much more confident and I think it's lower maintenance honestly, than it was before being a curly girl, and my hair just overall feels so much healthier. There's so much more for versatility too, you can do so many things."

"I had my hair dresser but ended up with my cancer and lost all my hair. For some time, the idea of going back to the salon and having my hair cut or touched.. it left me a little traumatized by my experience. I felt that I needed to be really selective, because I was at this point of not knowing if I wanted someone to touch my hair, it would take a lot of trust. My previous stylist was a little young, fresh out of school so this wasn't something she could do, like fix my hair with where it was, it's length after the loss, the unevenness, it's texture, and so I needed someone I could trust with my hair after the experience that I had just been through."

"I really love the attention to detail, I have multiple things- like I love the way that this feels really exclusive. I love that it's catered to me. I've been to salon's throughout my life where there's a lot of chaos and sometimes they forget you and you're left in the seat and I've never had that experience with you. We talk, the hours go by fast. I love that you're really good at conversation, you understand people, that's very obvious, yes you know people. I love the little surprises when I come sometimes, even the under eye mask. You do things you don't have to do, because you're already good at your trade. You don't have to, but you choose to do it with these funds and it makes you feel really special and it's exciting to want to come here. I love the cleanliness, I've always said that- the fact that you always use good products and that you teach. It's not like 'here's your hair and then I don't have time for you'. I like that you check in consistently, it really matters to you, and that's obvious. I told you about the experience at Ulta, it was the first time that I went to do something with my hair and she went totally scissor happy, without really understanding the trauma I had been through and with you I've never felt like that. I just know that my hair is in good hands.
What's the biggest change you've noticed?

"My confidence! You mean me, what do I feel? The amount of confidence that it gave me, there are a lot of people who love to give their opinion you know, it's like there's that part of it like 'stay with your short hair' but I was not me.. I didn't feel like Jade, I was another person..now I'm getting emotional.. I spent two years looking in the mirror not recognizing myself, and you did my hair, the song played (same song that played when she rang her bell cancer free), it was like the first time in almost three years that I was me. I saw myself in the mirror and I recognized myself in the mirror, it was so long. Some people never get that, and it was a really unique experience and I had fun with you that day. I think everything about it, and it's why I continue to come.

I love the way that I feel. I love the way my hair feels and I feel like me. My hair is the confidence, to be me again. I used to walk into the gym with my head down, just to myself- I was going to the gym since I was bald, and ever since I got my hair done, even the change in outfits, now I want to dress cute to the gym for myself because your hair is everything. Especially for a woman, it's everything, it's our femininity and I wanted to feel like a woman again, and this hair gave it to me.

"Length for sure. I've been able to reduce the amount of times I wash it in a week, so I'm using less product. I think the biggest difference is the length I've gotten and how I can go longer between washes. It would be oily and I'd have to wash it every other day. Even though it's a more high maintenance style needing to get them moved up, at home it's really just effortless."

Since 2025, Melissa has used one row of extensions to enhance her naturally fine hair. What were you looking for in a new stylist?​​
"Someone who I could quickly build confidence with, so I came in not your average client, so someone that could quickly have trust to say, okay she's going to take care of me. I walked away my first consultation with you feeling like she's the one, I'm going to trust her and her process. Because you never know who you're going to see really. "Having your own salon. You've got a lot of loyalty, a lot of clients, and I guess I was surprised at that normally you go see someone in a salon and they've got a salon behind them so to speak. I guess not too much surprised me, but I think you being independent on your own having your own space. I would imagine I'm probably one of your harder clients, not from a personality perspective, but the challenge of what my hair was to what it is today. I don't know if that surprises me, but I appreciated that."

Why do you choose to see me above other stylists in the area and what's the biggest change you've noticed in your hair?​​
"What I love, and my sister actually pointed this out to me about my extensions. She goes 'you have such natural looking extensions, you see some girls and it's chopped here, it doesn't blend, it does't look like one piece'. I think you've always given me a natural look, even when I was like I don't know if I want those or that. The reason I come to you, is because I think time and time again, I trust you. I have never been this high maintenance with my hair before, for me to be able to have somebody cut my hair and touch my hair it takes a lot of trust. Like if you went to Colorado Springs, I'd be like 'I guess I'm driving to Colorado Springs' because I'm like a little duckling imprinted on you, if she says I'm doing it, I'm doing it."
